Halfbreed Blades has announced their latest in fixed blade knives with the new ERK-01 TOPO Emergency Rescue Knife currently in the pre-order phase.
Halfbreed Blades state “Crafted from a solid slab of Austrian K110 tool steel measuring 6.5mm in thickness, the ERK-01 stands out as a truly versatile and rugged fixed blade knife designed for extreme applications, excelling particularly as a pry tool.
Engineered with a modified chisel point for unsurpassed strength, the ERK-01 is exceptionally well-suited for tasks involving prying and investigative probing. In consideration of these functionalities, the frontal edge remains deliberately unsharpened, catering to the needs of EOD specialists.
The spine of the ERK-01 boasts robust straight-cut saw teeth, making it highly effective for sawing through dry wood and a range of challenging field materials including plastic and bone. Its ergonomic G10 handle scales, designed for a comfortable yet secure grip, incorporate a nonslip surface. These scales are affixed using sturdy steel Torx screw fittings.
Enhancing its utility, the ERK-01 features a fully chamfered tang and handguard, partial blade serrations, an extended hammer pommel equipped with jimping, and a lanyard point. Safeguarding against corrosion is a resilient Teflon coating.”
