Bear & Son Cutlery unveils the 11-1/4″ Subhilt Fighter fixed blade knife.

Bear & Son Cutlery has launched the 11-1/4″ Subhilt Fighter fixed blade knife, featuring a D2 steel blade and a combination micarta and CNC-milled G10 handle. With a unique sub-hilt design for enhanced grip and control, this knife is not only functional but also a collectible piece, priced at $169.99.

Bear & Son states “Bear & Son Cutlery, one of America’s largest knife manufacturers, announces the launch of the 11 ¼” Subhilt Fighter, a modern fixed-blade knife crafted in Alabama. This new knife features a D2 steel blade, stainless finger guards, and a hand-fitted combination micarta and CNC-milled G10 handle.

The Subhilt Fighter is a distinctive addition to the fighting knife category, defined by its finger-resting “trigger” sub-hilt that locks the hand in place. This design enhances blade control and retention, allowing the index finger to brace against the guard for increased leverage and grip security during thrusts or slashing maneuvers. The 6-inch drop point blade (also available in the model 495 double-edged version) is made from D2 tool steel, respected for its toughness, hardness, and long-lasting edge retention, and finished with a non-glare black DLC coating.

For collectors, the Bear & Son Cutlery Subhilt Fighter is as much artistry as it is function. Bold lines, premium materials, and precision craftsmanship make it a standout piece in any collection. The stainless finger guards and custom-fitted handle materials add a unique look and feel, exuding both strength and elegance and a high-quality black leather sheath comes standard.
