Kershaw Knives announced their latest offering the XCOM folding knife which was inspired by the classic M3 trench knife. The XCOM (MODEL 3425) was designed to excel at piercing and cutting with it’s spear point blade.

Kershaw Knives states “Like the fighting knives of the past, the XCOM features a symmetrical, spear-point blade that’s great for piercing and cutting. A bayonet grind adds to the XCOM’s old-school theme. But Kershaw also kept legal concerns in mind. The XCOM’s quality 8Cr13MoV blade is only sharpened on one side, making it safer and easier to close—and making it legal in more areas (check your local laws to be sure). The big 3.6-inch blade opens manually with a built-in thumb disk. The simple, comfortable handle fits a wide range of hand sizes, from larger to smaller. Made of sturdy, all-weather glass-filled nylon, the XCOM’s grooved handle incorporates a handguard near the blade to help prevent slipping. Exposed liner on the spine has jimping for greater cutting control. An inset liner lock keeps the blade securely open during use and closes easily when you’re done.”

[…] Kershaw Knives states “Use it to attach the Antic to a keychain or as a lanyard attachment. In addition, the ring also provides enhanced ergonomics. Slide your pinkie through the ring for a karambit-style grip. And while karambit knives are usually very aggressive self-defense tools, with the Antic, you can enjoy this knife style in a casual, pocket-friendly format. And unlike a strictly self-defense knife, the Antic offers other tools, too. The end of the ring is flat head screwdriver, which also doubles as a mini prybar. There’s even a cleverly-placed bottle opener at the end of the back handle. This unobtrusive opener won’t interrupt your grip or poke your leg while carrying. And of course, it does its job very well. […]
