The Spartan Blades x Ronin Tactics Five Rings Project presents the WATER knife, inspired by Miyamoto Musashi’s teachings on adaptability. It features a lightweight titanium frame, a unique Damascus blade, and smooth deployment mechanisms. This collaboration emphasizes balance, fluidity, and individual craftsmanship, continuing a series inspired by Musashi’s elemental philosophy.
Water is adaptability made deliberate. The next release in the Spartan–Ronin Five Rings Project, WATER is a collaboration between Spartan Blades and Tu Lam of Ronin Tactics, built on our new Pandia titanium-framed folding knife. Inspired by The Book of Five Rings by Miyamoto Musashi, WATER embodies fluidity in action—adjusting to the environment, flowing around obstacles, and prevailing through balance and control. In Musashi’s teaching, Water is the element of adaptability: respond to the situation as it unfolds, remain balanced under pressure, and move without rigidity. This knife reflects that mindset—smooth in deployment, natural in hand, and ready to perform in any environment.
The 6AL4V titanium frame and hardware deliver exceptional strength in a thin, lightweight form. A precision-machined monolithic titanium pocket clip integrates seamlessly into the handle, preserving the Pandia’s clean, uninterrupted silhouette. WATER carries a distinctive visual signature: the titanium frame features an image of Tu Lam, portrayed as a stylized samurai conducting a modern special operations scuba mission—a tribute to the warrior ethos beneath the surface: disciplined, adaptable, and operating where others cannot.
This edition is equipped with a Damascus blade—forged through layered steel construction to create a distinctive flowing pattern, offering a balance of strength, durability, and striking visual character. Each blade carries its own unique pattern, making every knife one of a kind. The spear point blade with a high flat grind enhances slicing performance for smooth, precise cuts with minimal effort, while a thoughtfully placed sharpening choil helps ensure the edge can be maintained over time. Deployment is immediate and fluid. The flipper mechanism, equipped with the well-known IKBS bearing system, provides smooth, repeatable action that knife enthusiasts recognize and trust. WATER is one part of a complete story. This knife continues a five-knife series inspired by Musashi’s elements—Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, and Void—with releases planned across 2026.
