Brownells has recently debuted their latest offering for the AR-15 pattern with their new Government Prile AR-15 barrels.
Brownells states “These barrels come in a variety of lengths: 10.3″, 11.5″, 14.7″, and of course 16”. They are all 5.56 NATO chambered, with a chrome-lined bore and chamber.
ALL of them are Magnetic Particle Inspected (MPI) and proof-fired with a high-pressure load to weed out any with hidden flaws in the steel.
This is the same rigorous quality control the barrels built for the government receive, so you can be sure you’re getting a sound barrel that will give you decades of reliable service, depending on how much you shoot it.
Why the 14.7″ length instead of the official 14.5″ M4 carbine length?
The extra 2/10″ enable you to simply pin-and-weld on a standard A2 “bird cage” flash suppressor to achieve the legally required 16″ minimum total barrel length.
There is also a 14.7″ SOCOM-profile version available.
Brownells Government AR-15 barrels come as a complete assembly with the Delta ring, handguard front cap, rivetted sling swivel, front sight tower / gas block, and the front sight post all installed.
The carbine barrels have the proper cutout in the front cap for the M203 Grenade Launcher.
All barrels have a uniform, deep-black, phosphate finish and very crisp, clean engraving.”
