Taylor Freelance's new HK VP9 “A1K” Backstrap
Taylor Freelance’s new HK VP9 “A1K” Backstrap

Taylor Freelance introduces the HK VP9 “A1K” backstrap, the first metal option for the compact VP9 A1K pistol. Made from brass, it offers enhanced comfort and control with high-traction checkering. Upcoming variants will include black brass and aluminum. The backstrap improves balance and handling, weighing 3.25 ounces.

We’re fairly sure this is the first metal backstrap available for the excellent VP9 A1K (“K” for “Kurtz” or compact). The Glock 19-sized A1K has developed an immediate fan base in the HK community, and we’re happy to make that platform even more comfortable and controllable than before. Available in brass now, you’ll soon see them black brass, followed by aluminum variants in coming months. As you might expect, they work with our existing VP9 side panels, as well as our new “snap-on” HK VP9A1 magwell.

DETAILS:

  • Machined from bar stock H02 Brass or 6061 aluminum
  • Ridiculous volumes of high-traction checkering CUT into each piece (not cast) for maximum “grip” and control
  • Lowers the center of gravity (better balance, calmer handling, less top-heavy)
  • Weight: 3.25 ounces
  • Material: Brass
