Steiner debuts the M830rc X LRF 1535

Steiner Optics has launched the M830rc X LRF 1535nm, a cutting-edge laser rangefinder binocular featuring seamless connectivity to the A.T.A.K. Battle Management System. This integration allows for real-time target data sharing, enhancing operational efficiency by improving accuracy and speed in intelligence dissemination. It is rugged, compact, and equipped for extreme conditions.

Steiner eOptics introduces the M830rc X LRF 1535nm, a laser rangefinder binocular now featuring seamless connectivity to the A.T.A.K. (Android Tactical Assault Kit) Battle Management System. Through a newly developed interface, targets lased with the M830rc X LRF are instantly transferred into the A.T.A.K. Battle Management System and displayed on a shared, real-time digital map, making them immediately visible to all users across the network.

The integration is activated through a straightforward software update to the binocular’s Bluetooth module, ensuring full compatibility with both newly acquired and previously fielded M830rc X LRF 1535nm units. Once updated, operators can transmit a lased target’s bearing, distance, and elevation angle directly to A.T.A.K. at the press of a single button. In conjunction with the built-in GPS receiver, the system automatically calculates and plots precise target coordinates on the digital situation map. Operators can further enrich each target entry with additional information — such as target type, estimated strength and observed behavior — via the connected smart device, making it instantly available to all users within the network.

The result is a significant improvement in the speed and accuracy of intelligence dissemination: manual data entry is eliminated, along with the associated risk of human error in relaying time-critical position data. The Germany-made Steiner M830rc X LRF 1535nm represents the latest generation of laser rangefinder binoculars and combines advanced sensor integration with enhanced operational capability.

Designed for extreme operational and environmental conditions, the M830rc X LRF 1535nm combines several mission-critical capabilities in a rugged, compact form factor.

  • Weighing just 950 grams, the binocular’s 8x magnification and 30 mm objective lenses deliver sharp, high-contrast imagery with exceptional resolution for superior situational awareness.
  • The integrated laser rangefinder is eye-safe in accordance with EN and FDA Class 1 standards and operates at a wavelength of 1,535 nanometres, making it undetectable by the naked eye as well as by common night-vision devices. In addition to single-shot ranging, a continuous scan mode for ongoing rangefinding is also available.
  • An integrated reticle enables distance estimation and size determination of objects, as well as the adjustment of indirect fire using the mil-relation method — without requiring any power supply or emitting any signals.
  • Additional sensors include an inclinometer with a measuring range of +/– 89 degrees and an integrated compass capable of displaying bearing in a 360-degree format or 6,400-MIL.
  • Via Bluetooth or a wired interface, the M830rc X LRF 1535nm connects with compatible devices — including Steiner IFS-series riflescopes, Kestrel wind meters, and Garmin navigation devices — to seamlessly exchange critical data such as range, heading, wind speed, and GPS coordinates.
  • A simplified user interface with two centrally located control buttons enables fast, intuitive operation – even under combat-stress conditions.
