Noveske and Allen Engineering have collaborated to launch “The Gordy,” a modern adaptation of the iconic Gordon Carbine, originally used by Delta operators in the 1990s. The new design features a shorter, more accurate barrel, advanced components, and retains the classic aesthetic while enhancing performance, combining history with contemporary technology.
Back in the mid-2000s, Noveske and Allen Engineering (formerly known as OPS INC) were both involved with building the iconic MK12 Mod H SPR. Noveske provided the barrel and AE provided the suppressor system. These parts were designed to work together to create a hyper accurate platform for SOF. Fast forward 20 years, and Noveske and AE have reunited to work on another special project, the Gordy.
History lesson for those who don’t know. “Gordon Carbine” is the name given to rifles used by a few Delta operators in the 90s. The most famous of those operators was MSG. Gary Gordon who earned the Medal of Honor posthumously for his actions during the Battle of Mogadishu. The movie Black Hawk Down depicted this event and brought increased attention to the unique delta setup. A Colt 723 equipped with a red dot, flashlight, and AE suppressor.
When we started talking last year, we knew we wanted to do something around the iconic Gordon Carbine, but we also knew we wanted to add our unique twist on the platform. We wanted to make the Noveske Gordy shorter and more accurate than the original. Using Noveske’s 4th generation billet upper receiver instead of a forged “clone correct” one, we were able to combine the classic look and feel of the original Godon carbine, with the modern tight tolerances Noveske is known for. The barrel is a Noveske12.5” 416r stainless steel 7PT 5.56 with a pinned front sight post and contoured specifically to fit the Gordon collar and AEM5-K silencer. We chose the AEM5K silencer to retain the iconic style of the Gordon carbine, but with our own twist of a modern SBR.
