Arisaka Defense has launched the QD Mount tripod, designed for easy attachment of QD sling swivels to devices with a 1/4″-20 threaded hole, typically found on shooting tripods. It features an anti-rotation socket, includes necessary hardware, and is made from durable aluminum. Proper installation requires a 1/8″ Allen wrench.

Arisaka Defense states “The QD Mount Tripod makes it easy to attach QD sling swivels to anything with a 1/4”-20 threaded hole, like most shooting tripods. The socket itself is an anti-rotation design, and includes a 1/4″-20 screw and Nord-Lock washer to secure it to the tripod. If your tripod has a larger thread, such as 3/8″-16, then a flush mount thread reducer is required. An example of a tripod with a 3/8″-16 accessory hole is the Leupold Mark 5 CF-455. For 3/8″-16 we recommend the E-Z LOK model 319-4 paired with their 500-2 drive tool. You can also find inexpensive thread reducers for 3/8″-16 like the Kirk QRB-1S at most photography suppliers, but make sure that whichever reducer you pick is flush mount, as it is important that the Nord-Lock washer rests on the tripod body and not the reducer, or else the mount can loosen during use.”
