Colt Optics has introduced the LP5X-P, a compact weapon-mounted aiming laser designed for small arms and crew-served weapons. It features four co-aligned lasers, including visible and IR pointers, enhancing aiming efficiency. The rugged unit, compatible with standard rail systems, operates under various conditions, showcasing advanced engineering and user-friendly adjustments.
The LP5X-P is Colt Optics’ entry into weapon-mounted aiming lasers – the US model of the combat-proven LP5X-P, built in partnership with Brolis Defence and already standardized and fielded across NATO forces. It is one of the most compact and lightweight laser pointer-illuminators in its class, engineered for small arms and crew-served weapons that have to perform in any environment.
Four co-aligned lasers do the work of an entire aiming suite: a visible green pointer, an IR pointer, an IR illuminator with electronically adjustable beam divergence, and a VCSEL IR flood illuminator. Because every emitter is co-aligned, a single zero puts them all on the same point of impact – and the aiming lasers sit directly over the bore line to keep offset to a minimum.
The US LP5X-P pushes a 26 mW visible laser for cutting through extreme bright conditions, with a modified divergence adjustment sized for gloved-hand manipulation. An adjustable flip-up mechanical back-up iron sight, an IP68-rated polymer housing, and a single CR123 battery round out a unit that mounts low-profile on any MIL-STD-1913 / STANAG 4694 Picatinny rail.
