Ruger has launched the new LCP MAX pistol featuring the Magpul Enhanced Handgun Grip, enhancing control and comfort for users. This model maintains the proven performance of the LCP MAX while offering increased capacity and improved ergonomics. Notable features include updated magazine options, reduced recoil, and a refined grip design.
Ruger states “Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR) is proud to announce the latest addition to the LCP® MAX lineup: a new model featuring the Magpul® Enhanced Handgun Grip (EHG™). Introduced in 2021, the LCP MAX was built on the legacy of the original LCP pistol – America’s favorite ultra-compact – by delivering increased capacity and enhanced shootability in a lightweight, easy-to-carry design. This newest configuration represents the next step in Ruger’s continued evolution of the platform.
Developed through Ruger’s ongoing collaboration with Magpul Industries, the LCP MAX with Magpul EHG offers the same proven performance shooters expect from the LCP MAX, now paired with a premium grip frame engineered for improved control, comfort and consistency. Initial models will feature a manual safety, a 10‑round magazine, and a new, 13‑round magazine purpose-built for the EHG. This launch is just the beginning of what Ruger and Magpul have planned for the LCP MAX, underscoring Ruger’s commitment to innovation and consumer choice.”
Magpul states “Ruger® just launched their newest model of the LCP MAX with our new Enhanced Handgun Grip (EHG).
The LCP MAX with Magpul LCP Max EHG delivers improved ergonomics thanks to an enhanced gripping surface, and greater control to one of the smallest concealed-carry pistols available – and has similar aesthetics to the RXM. The pistol also features a black-nitride slide, a tritium insert with a white outline for the front sight paired with a drift-adjustable, squared, blacked-out rear sight, and measures a scant 0.75″ wide (slide width). It’s a tad taller than most LCP MAX models, measuring 4.78″, which helps many with larger hands maintain a better grip to help control the lightweight (11.2 oz.) gun’s recoil. Other upgrades over previous models include improved magazine feed lips, feed ramp, and extractor. Further reducing recoil is a patented barrel cam geometry that delays unlocking, slows the slide, and ultimately reduces felt recoil compared to other .380 Auto pistols.
The reconfigured grip includes a ¾ TSP texture, a higher beavertail, an undercut trigger guard and a longer trigger-pull length. It also adds a more tactile feel to the reversible magazine release, enhancing dexterity when performing magazine changes. These features all combine to minimize recoil and muzzle rise and make the LCP Max easier to handle and shoot.
Initial models will feature a manual safety, a 10‑round magazine, and a new 13‑round magazine purpose-built for the EHG when paired with the color-matching grip extension (the 12-round mags will also function with the gun).”
