FALCO Holsters has unveiled a redesigned safety hood for its Kydex Duty Holsters, enhancing safety and operational speed. The new mechanism features an ergonomically repositioned thumb-activated release button, improved traction, and a protective shroud. This update, guided by user feedback, aims to boost performance and confidence for duty professionals.
FALCO states ” FALCO® Holsters has announced a major redesign of its Kydex Duty Holsters equipped with safety hoods. The update replaces the company’s previous hood system with a new, modernized mechanism engineered to enhance both safety and operational speed.
The decision to retire the original hood design stemmed from FALCO’s commitment to continuous improvement and user safety. The new safety hood maintains the same spring-loaded function as its predecessor but introduces a range of ergonomic and functional upgrades for duty professionals who depend on flawless gear performance.
The thumb-activated release button has been repositioned for a more natural and ergonomic reach, significantly improving draw speed under stress. The button now features tighter serrations for enhanced traction and control in all weather conditions, while a new protective shroud shields it from accidental activation, unauthorized use, or impact.
On the outer side, the hood’s hinge sits behind the plastic cover to ensure reliable function even when the holster comes into contact with rough surfaces or obstacles during active duty. The hood’s new squared profile accommodates modern open reflex sights up to 1.18″ in height, delivering demanded compatibility with contemporary law enforcement and tactical optics.
“Safety, innovation, and reliable performance are the foundation of every holster we make,” said Robert Kováč, CEO of FALCO Holsters. “Our redesigned safety hood system improves all three of these key principles. The feedback from professionals who depend on our holsters every day guided this evolution, and we are proud to offer a solution that enhances both confidence and performance in the field.”
