CCI Ammunition has launched the Uppercut 22WMR rimfire cartridge, designed for self-defense. This new round features a 40-grain jacketed hollow-point bullet with nose skiving for dependable expansion. According to Steve Monniere, it’s CCI’s first rimfire defense product, promising power, precision, and reliable performance for critical situations.

CCI states “The new Uppercut 22 WMR from CCI Ammunition offers self-defenders even more rimfire options. The new round features a 40-grain jacketed hollow-point bullet (JHP) with nose skiving, which initiates full and reliable expansion across all platforms. This new product is currently being delivered to retailers nationwide.

“CCI Uppercut answers the call for self-defense with power and precision, and our new 22 WMR load delivers peak performance across all platforms,” said Steve Monniere, CCI’s Rimfire Product Line Manager. “Uppercut is CCI’s first-ever rimfire product line designed for defense and will undoubtedly be some of our most popular loads.”

The difference in CCI Uppercut lies in its exclusive projectile. Unlike the simple lead round nose or copper-plated hollow points typical of most rimfire ammunition, Uppercut’s jacketed hollow point bullet features nose skiving that initiates full and reliable expansion while retaining the weight needed to hit critical penetration depths. Plus, CCI’s legendary priming ensures it will always be ready when needed.”
