Bobro Engineering has recently shown off their latest in the KOFN Mounting System with the AK Sight Block KOFN Optic Mount.
Bobro Engineering states “he KOFN System snaps on and off with the push of a button and is a true return-to-zero mounting system. On
e area where it shines (and where we’ve been having a lot of fun at the range with) is the AK platform.
Now, by nature of the design, the AK platform has some very pronounced limitations when it comes to mounting an optic.
Finding a spot to retain the optic without interference from heat, movement, or rigidity makes getting a consistent and repeatable zero very difficult.
The KOFN wedge on our AK mount is solidly affixed to the rear sight block, one of the few spots on the platform that doesn’t move and isn’t affected by heat like a gas tube mount is.
The top cover shifts, and a receiver mount is also subjected to inconsistencies, so the rear sight block is one of the best place to mount an optic.
Our mount has a rear sight built within the wedge interface and is virtually unnoticeable when installed.
It keeps your AK looking like a proper AK without losing iron sight capability.
There is no gunsmithing required for this mount, which is also adjustable for elevation and will not damage the rifle in any way.
With a closed emitter sight such as an Aimpoint ACRO or Steiner MPS, the height is perfect.
A conventional cheek weld is attainable, so both the optic and irons can be used with any AK – fixed, folding, etc.
There is no mount on the market with capabilities remotely close to what our product offers.
It is going to be a game changer for the AK world.”
