
Bobro Engineering has debuted their latest innovation in weapon mounting solutions with new KOFN (KEYED OPTIC FASTING NETWORK) system.
Bobro Engineering states “Today we are introducing the KOFN system, our newest product line, and the culmination of much hard work.
Its utility is extremely broad, so much so that we come up with a new idea for its use nearly every day.
We’ve had this design in the prototype stage for quite a few years, but it was on the backburner because we were developing many other products.
Recently, there has been a widespread acceptance of M-LOK rails and an industry-wide shift towards this system being the new standard.
There are published specifications for M-LOK slots, but a lot of manufacturers don’t follow them, and the dimensions are all over the place.
Our KOFN system works with any M-LOK slot regardless of how well the tolerances are adhered to.
Once you bolt something down on an M-LOK rail, it is secure.
So, we figured, why not have something small and lightweight retained on the gun that allows you to quickly swap accessories on and off without the use of tools. Design it so that it perfectly returns to zero, and now you’ve got something.
The retained KOFN wedge comes in at an incredibly light 3.5 grams (0.123 oz).
You can have multiple KOFN attachment points on the same host and add no discernable weight to your rifle.
The entire system is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum as well, so there is no question of its strength either.
We have multiple flashlight and optic interfaces that attach to the KOFN base. We’ve even come up with an adjustable AK rear sight that has a built in KOFN.
This allows the user to attach an optic and still be able to use the iron sights without having to remove anything.
It bolts to one of the few spots on the AK platform that will maintain a solid union with the barrel and hold zero.”
