GRIFFIN ARMAMENT DEBUTS THE RECCE 5K SUPPRESSOR

Griffin Armament debuts their latest in silencers with the new Recce 5K suppressor.

Griffin Armament states “The Recce series of suppressors are a long standing staple in the suppressor market segment. The 1st generation Recce suppressors were debuted in 2012 with the purpose of providing compact, durable, accurate, rifle specific suppressors to the market. These suppressors have received continued technology enhancements and revisions over the years to keep them at the tip of the spear in the suppressor market. The latest iteration of this line is the Recce 5K, a compact version of the Recce 5 for users demanding a compact, rapid-indexing suppressor.

It features Griffin’s utility patented ECO-FLOW™ baffle system offering the apogee of .22 caliber sound performance. This baffle system reduces back pressure which alleviates much of the blow back through semi auto actions providing a more comfortable experience to the end user. This baffle system is tuned such that performance at the muzzle of the suppressor and the ears of the operator are balanced for a uniform and low sound signature in the immediate vicinity of the shooter. Combining these baffles with a reimagined, high-flow, flash hiding front cap directs toxic gas away from the shooter’s face and further improves sound performance. This flash reducing cap features internal & external flash-hiding geometry and reduces first round flash considerably vs flat end cap (featureless) designs.

Another notable improvement in the RECCE (MOD4) family is the integration of the backward compatible Taper Mount-RI™ interface (Rapid Index). The Griffin Taper Mount interface is a gold standard in the industry, providing secure attachment, and unbeatable accuracy to consumers for over a decade. This interface has been improved however, being 3X faster to mount than the original by engineering a precision indexing feature in the interface and using fewer machined thread rotations in a more optimal position within the body. The original Griffin Taper Mount took roughly 15 seconds on average to mount and the new system can be reliably mounted in 5 seconds. Accuracy, and POI shift have been improved while the secure attachment the Griffin Taper Mount is known for has not changed, resulting in a next generation Taper Mount-RI™, an ideal system built on over a decade of taper mount manufacturing and research.

The Recce 5K is fully CNC machined, and laser-welded from 17-4 stainless steel for maximum thermal transfer and unparalleled strength and durability. Every component in the Recce 5 is manufactured from solid, high temperature corrosion resistant 17-4 Stainless Steel, and then H900 heat treated to ensure maximum service life is provided. Years of internal testing has found 17-4 stainless steel to provide longer service life than 718 Inconel, the prior market leading alloy. 17-4 stainless is also twice as strong as cast Stellite 6, used by some industry companies. Included with the Recce 5K is a Taper Mount EZ-Brake and is ready for use right out of the box. Simply mount your muzzle device, attach the suppressor and you’re ready to roll.”
