Dan Wesson Firearms announced the expansion of their DWX series of pistols with the latest model DWX C.
The DWX C is the compact version of the full size flagship DWX model.
Dan Wesson Firearms states “Designed initially for competition use, the DWX has evolved into much more than that, with both full-size and compact variants. Its locked breech barrel system is simple, ditching the standard 1911 link system and using CZ-style takedown via the slide stop. The easier take-down will be familiar to any hammer-fired CZ owner, as is removing the Match-grade barrel due to the bushing-less barrel system that resembles a P-10 or P-09/P-07. Double-stack magazines boost the capacity to 15+1 with flush bases, and many standard 1911 parts enable gunsmiths and competitive shooters to tune the X just the way they like it. Sights are easily customized, using a 1911-style dovetailed sight in the front and a CZ Shadow 2 style sight cut in the rear. The swappable mag release expands upon the user configuration.”

Looks awesome. I’m the founder of CZforum.com and been a CZ head for many years, and now for over 35 years. CZF was the first officially recognized and endorsed firearms forum with CZUB, and with CZ-USA. I was around when they made the move to buy DAN WESSON. Have had a few of them in .45 ACP and even .38 Super, over the years, but they have long offered 10mms. Of which Razor Dobbs, has Hunted with for years.
My EDC for nearly 20 years was the excellent RAMI in 9mm for the city and a P-01 or CZ97B for other stuff.. if not a
DW Bob Commander or Guardian, ect.
However, now that I’m back in IDAHO, I really prefer a 10mm. That means a railed Kimber or a Dan Wesson Specialist 10mm Commander for carry.
If the DW DWX or this new Compact can get into the TEN realm, it might turn a lot of heads. Recoil shouldn’t be that bad, especially with the the tame S&B and other practice ammo. I use the Underwood defensive and hunting 10mm offerings these days.
