Pulsar has launched its flagship Telos LRF XT50 thermal monocular, designed for nighttime hunting. It features a 1,280×1,024 thermal sensor, 2,516-yard detection range, 2x–16x magnification, and a Full HD AMOLED display. The ergonomic design ensures ease of use in various conditions, making it ideal for distinguishing animals in the field.
Pulsar has released the Telos LRF XT50, the new flagship monocular in its upgradeable Telos series. Built for hunters who cover a lot of ground after dark, the XT50 combines a 1,280×1,024, 12 µm HD thermal sensor with a wide 17.5° field of view, a 2,516-yard detection range, 2x–16x magnification with Zoom Boost up to 24x, a Full HD AMOLED display with image stabilization, and a built-in laser rangefinder that measures out to 1,312 yards. A 128 GB recorder and Pulsar’s upgradeable Telos platform round out the package.
The XT50 has an ergonomic, rubber-coated body for a secure grip in wet or cold weather, with its main controls grouped on top for easy access. The focus and zoom rings sit near the front lens, matching the rest of the Telos line, and use more aggressive texturing to make adjustments easier with cold hands or gloves. As the flagship of the Telos family, the XT50 also carries a gold-accented finish that sets it apart from the rest of the line at a glance.
The real test of a thermal monocular comes after a heat signature appears at distance: can the hunter tell what is actually out there? The XT50’s 1,280×1,024, 12 µm sensor is built to preserve enough detail at range to distinguish between different animals, even in poor weather, instead of reducing everything to the same vague warm shape.
