JMac Customs in collaboration with Richmond Tactical debut the Banka Suppressor

JMac Customs and Richmond Tactical have introduced the Banka Suppressor, specifically engineered for AK-platform rifles. Made from titanium, it minimizes back pressure and improves alignment without modifying the gas system. With a compact design, it supports multiple calibers and offers enhanced sound suppression for a quieter shooting experience.

JMac Customs state “Suppressing an AK has always come with compromises. Most suppressors and mounting systems were designed around AR-style barrels that index off a defined shoulder — something the AK platform simply doesn’t have. Using shoulder-dependent mounts on an AK can lead to inconsistent alignment, added stress on barrel threads, and legitimate concentricity concerns.

On top of mounting issues, traditional suppressors create excessive back pressure in AK gas systems. This results in loud port pop at the shooter’s ear, increased cyclic rate, and gas venting back into the shooter’s face and eyes. Fixing those issues typically requires additional accessories, dust cover gaskets, or permanent gas system modifications — all to make the rifle tolerable to shoot.

Banka was engineered around the AK — not adapted from an AR design. We collaborated with Richmond Tactical and their incredible engineering team to bring the ultimate AK suppressor to market! Its extremely low-back-pressure architecture minimizes port pop and cyclic-rate increase, while a dual-chamber front-exhaust system drives sound, gas, and pressure forward, away from the shooter. The result is a noticeably cleaner and quieter shooting experience at the ear, without tuning or gas system changes.

Mounting is equally AK-correct. When paired with JMac’s 360HD or 360HDM facemount system, Banka indexes directly off the barrel face, not a nonexistent shoulder. This provides consistent alignment, reduces thread stress, and eliminates the concentricity concerns commonly associated with shoulder-indexed mounts on AK platforms. The generous 360-degree interface further distributes load and removes barrel-length restrictions.

The Banka is a compact, multi-caliber suppressor purpose-built for Kalashnikov-pattern rifles and other semi-auto gas-operated firearms. Machined from 6AL-4V titanium, it measures 7.10″ OAL with a 1.85″ diameter and uses a .375″ progressive bore to support a wide range of rifle and PCC calibers. Under controlled outdoor testing (18″ shooter’s-ear distance, open desert conditions), Banka measured ~10 dB quieter at the shooter’s ear than the most common AK suppressor on the market, while maintaining a comparable muzzle signature. In full-auto testing, Banka showed no noticeable increase in rate of fire compared to unsuppressed operation. Competing high-back-pressure designs significantly increased cyclic rate. This confirms Banka’s core advantage: effective suppression with minimal impact on how the host firearm operates.

Banka ships with native 1.375-24 HUB threads, making it compatible with all JMac HUB-based mounting systems. The X37 brake/mount interface is natively supported with no adapter required. When used with JMac 360HD or 360HDM mounts, Banka has no barrel-length restrictions and benefits from a true facemount interface optimized for AK barrels. It is also compatible with most other HUB-based adapters and mounting devices.
