Chiappa introduces the Rhino 60DS L-frame revolver in a unique Cosmic Nebula finish, featuring a multi-spectrum PVD treatment. It maintains the proven mechanics of the .44 Magnum platform while enhancing ergonomics and reducing recoil. The durable finish adds collectibility, and it includes various safety features for performance and reliability.
Chiappa states “Chiappa Firearms is continuing the rollout of its new L-Frame Rhino chambered in .44 Remington Magnum with the introduction of the Nebula PVD finish. This visually striking edition builds on the recently launched .44 Magnum platform, offering collectors and shooters a unique, iridescent aesthetic without changing the proven mechanics of the revolver.
The Nebula 60DS retains the Rhino’s signature bottom-chamber firing geometry, which reduces muzzle rise and straightens recoil impulse. This is a significant advantage when handling a high-pressure cartridge like the .44 Magnum. The updated L-Frame incorporates improved ergonomics, including twin finger stops and a revised grip interface, for consistent hand placement and controllable recoil. Chiappa’s characteristic balance of strength and weight is preserved with a 7075-T6 aluminum frame paired with a steel barrel and breech shield.
The Nebula finish features a multi-spectrum PVD treatment that shifts from deep purples to blues to gold-tinged highlights. Each revolver’s coloration is unique, making every piece one-of-a-kind. The durable, scratch-resistant coating adds a collectible quality to an already high-performance platform.
The Nebula 60DS L-Frame comes with a 6-inch barrel, fiber-optic sights with a fixed front and fully adjustable rear, a double/single-action trigger system, and a six-round cylinder. Safety features, including cylinder block, rotation lock, and hammer block, are carried over from prior Rhino models. The revolver weighs 2.92 lbs, measures 11 inches overall, and includes Hogue rubber grips for improved recoil management. Each unit ships in a hard case with an owner’s kit and Rhino sticker.”
