Apparition Instruments debuts new suppressor line

Apparition Instruments has launched a new suppressor line, featuring the 3CM, 5CM, and 6CM suppressors, optimized for various calibers (300 BLK, 5.56, and 6MM). Each model utilizes advanced design and engineering to enhance signature reduction and energy management while maintaining compactness and versatility for different operational needs.

3CM Suppressor

The 3CM is a modular 300 BLK suppressor engineered to deliver calibrated signature reduction for low visibility applications where confined space over pressure mitigation is critical. The core module is optimized as a minimal-volume energy regulator, designed to control mass-flow rate, impulse pressure, and post-expansion turbulence at the muzzle while preserving the shortest possible operational footprint. This enables operators to maintain weapon maneuverability in vehicles, structures, and restricted environments without sacrificing essential pressure attenuation or flash control.

The system architecture incorporates a hybrid extension module that expands internal dwell, increases staged gas partitioning, and enhances inter chamber cooling behavior, yielding superior suppression performance as overall length and internal volume increase. This modularity allows the 3CM to function as both a compact energy control device, ideal for low signature, confined space operations, and as a larger-volume acoustic suppressor when mission parameters prioritize maximum reduction of broadband impulse energy. The 3CM therefore embodies a scalable scientific approach to 300 BLK suppression: short for pressure safety, extended for full-spectrum signature control, with internal geometries tuned for optimal mass-flow regulation across both configurations.

  • Caliber: 300BLK

5CM Suppressor

The Apparition Instruments 5CM suppressor is the result of a joint experimental program with Combat Application Technologies (CAT) to develop a compact volume suppressor system optimized for CAT’s CACM family of tuned rifle platforms. The foundation of the design originated from the Combat Nano (Nano) prototype series of muzzle devices, which enabled controlled analysis of supersonic gas discharge behavior at the barrel interface, including gas residence time, mass flow regulation, boundary layer collapse, micro turbulence formation, and thermal decay rates. Using iterative CFD modeling and live fire telemetry, the Nano series established the scientific correlations between muzzle geometry, gas flow conditioning, and post expansion turbulence that directly informed the internal structure of the 5CM. This suppressor architecture increases internal dwell, enhances energy collapse, and improves inter baffle cooling efficiency, allowing a smaller suppressor volume to deliver disproportionately high suppression output.

  • Caliber: 5.56
  • Length: 5.85″
  • Diameter: 1.6″
  • Weight – IN718: 18 oz
  • Muzzle Device: AI Nano 1/2 x 28

6CM Suppressor

The 6CM suppressor extends the same scientific development framework used in the 5CM program, but scaled and tuned for 6 mm intermediate caliber systems requiring higher gas mass-flow management and greater internal energy collapse in a similar compact volume envelope. Leveraging the Combat Nano (Nano) prototype methodology, the 6CM development phase focused on characterizing the ballistic and thermodynamic properties of 6 mm discharge events, including elevated bore pressure gradients, increased thermal load, and longer duration gas residency at the muzzle exit. CFD analysis defined the optimal geometries for boundary layer disruption, laminar-to-turbulent transition timing, and staged expansion that maximized suppression density without extending overall system length. Internally, the 6CM channels mass flow through tuned energy partitions that increase dwell, and reduce peak impulse pressure, allowing a compact suppressor to achieve acoustic and visual signature performance normally associated with larger volume devices. When paired with properly tuned 6 mm host platforms, the 6CM functions as a calibrated gas regulation system, scientifically engineered to translate higher pressure 6 mm flow behavior into efficient energy collapse and superior suppression output within a mission optimized footprint.

  • Caliber: 6MM
  • Length: 5.38″
  • Diameter: 1.6″
  • Weight – IN718: 16.3 oz
