The Apparition Instruments 5CM suppressor is the result of a joint experimental program with Combat Application Technologies (CAT) to develop a compact volume suppressor system optimized for CAT’s CACM family of tuned rifle platforms. The foundation of the design originated from the Combat Nano (Nano) prototype series of muzzle devices, which enabled controlled analysis of supersonic gas discharge behavior at the barrel interface, including gas residence time, mass flow regulation, boundary layer collapse, micro turbulence formation, and thermal decay rates.
