Griffin Armament has launched an adjustable gas block for the AR-15, emphasizing a straightforward two-mode operation: Normal and Suppressed. This design, patented from MicroMoa LLC, allows users to easily adjust settings with a 5.56mm round. The minimalist construction fits most rails and enhances gas management for users.
Griffin Armament states “It has long been our belief that the ideal AR-15 should have 2 simple modes – Normal and Suppressed – affording a K.I.S.S. concept optimization for use with and without suppressors, easily adjustable by means of the tip of a live round of 5.56mm ammunition.
The Griffin Adjustable AR-15 Gas Block achieves this simplicity and is a product made possible by the acquisition of two patents from MicroMoa LLC – the original manufacturers of the “Govnah gas block”.
The Griffin Adjustable AR-15 Gas Block provides normal and suppressed operation via rotationally sliding a regulator plate from the Normal position to the Suppressed position. This regulator plate is detented via a 718 inconel spring and ceramic ball bearing ensuring material strength under extreme operating temperatures.
There are two 180° opposed sides of the regulator disc, each affording a normal and suppressed setting. One side of the block is identifiable by two grooves cut on the side of the selector cutout. This features gives the user the ability to choose the better of the two holes for their specific setup.
This simple 2-position design makes gas management easy, and allows the user to visually confirm which state the firearm is in without confusion.
The minimalist design is designed to fit under nearly every rail available on the market, while still being operable using a bullet through the gaps in the rail.”
