Magpul has launched a new stock for the Ruger American Short-Action, enhancing its Hunter Lite line. Weighing 2.5 pounds, it features adjustable length of pull, comb height, and compatibility with both left and right-handed users. The stock is designed for easy maneuverability and retains essential performance characteristics, including AICS-mag compatibility and M-LOK slots.
Magpul states “We’re expanding our Hunter Lite line of stocks – our take on a backcountry hunting stock – and the third version is for the Ruger American rifle in short-action cartridges. Designed around most of the same stand-out features as the other Hunter Lite variants—such as the V-bedding block, adjustable LOP and comb height, and the ability to use AICS-pattern mags—the Hunter Lite Stock – Ruger American can be configured for both left- and right-handed shooters. All these features arrive in a stock that weighs only 2.5 pounds and has a narrower forend to support maneuverability and ease of carry. And don’t worry if you have a Gen I or Gen II model; the stock fits both variants.
At roughly 2.5 pounds, this stock is as light as we could make it without compromising features or build quality. That means it still has everything you’d expect from one of our stocks, like a reversible inlet insert to change the action orientation for left- or right-handed shooters and an aluminum V-bedding block to prevent compression and deformation that would otherwise inhibit accuracy. We also thought of the small things, like LOP and comb-heigh adjustability, an enlarged trigger guard, integral sling swivel studs, and AICS mag compatibility – with an ambi mag release. Of course, it has our M-LOK slots for attaching accessories.”
