Sig Sauer has introduced the Special Weapons Group Edition :002 The RSAR999 USSOCOM MCX-Rattler LT, following its 2022 USSOCOM contract win for a new PDW rifle. Designed for maximum concealability and firepower, it features a 7.75″ barrel, modular options, and comes with accessories in a limited release.
Sig Sauer states “In September 2022, SIG SAUER was awarded the USSOCOM contract for the RSAR rifle kit. The search for this PDW rifle began in 2017 with particular criteria that had to be met to achieve the needs of the USSSOCOM forces. The contract called for providing operators with the maximum firepower in a fully concealable weapon with suppressor capabilities and barrel interchangeability. The 7.75″ RATTLER LT configuration in 5.56, given its size and modularity along with 7.62×39 barrel configurations and SLH suppressors, was able to meet and win the contract due to its size and performance capabilities.
With a five-year infinite delivery contract, the RSAR rifle will be manufactured in this SWG offering as RSAR999 in a limited-quantity build and comes complete with Pelican® Case, Magpul® Dual QD Sling, SIG Iron Sights, optional low profile brass deflector, and Single Point Adapter, and Certificate of Authenticity.”
