Mossberg has upgraded its 940 Pro Tactical shotgun, introducing the 940 Pro Tactical SPX, featuring a cleaner gas system and tactical enhancements. Available in 8-Shot or 5-Shot configurations, it includes an optic-ready receiver, corrosion-resistant components, an adjustable stock, and multiple customization options. Initial models come with popular accessories like Holosun sights.
Mossberg states “Mossberg has refined its widely-popular 940 Pro Tactical 12-gauge semi-auto shotgun with new and highly-desired tactical features: introducing the 940 Pro Tactical SPX shotgun. Based on Mossberg’s cleaner-running and redesigned 940 Pro gas-operating system, this feature-rich, optic-ready platform is available in 8-Shot or 5-Shot versions with 18.5-inch AccuChoke®-compatible barrels. Initially, five models are available including a Holosun® Micro Dot Combo and optional Cerakote® finishes.
Like all 940 Pro shotguns, the 940 Pro Tactical SPX has corrosion-resistant internal parts and finishes including nickel boron-coated gas piston, magazine tube, hammer, and sear. And the cleaner-running gas vent system allows for longer cleaning intervals and smooth, reliable operation. Standard features of the 940 Pro platform include an optic-ready receiver for direct mounting of micro dot optics (RMSc footprint); drilled and tapped receiver; oversized ergonomic bolt release; knurled and extended charging handle; enlarged and beveled loading port; elongated, pinch-free elevator; bright orange anodized follower; 18.5-inch AccuChoke barrel with Cylinder choke tube provided (other choke tubes sold separately); and extended magazine tube with 7+1 round capacity (2.75-inch shells). The durable synthetic stock is self-draining and has a user-adjustable length-of-pull with a range of 12.5 – 14.25 inches with the use of inserts. Further adjustability is provided for drop at comb and cast with the use of incremental stock shims. The grip area features Mossberg’s signature aggressive texturing and completing the stock is a rear swivel stud.”

- Redesigned one-piece magazine tube for ease of maintenance and improved reliability. Magazine spring is retained for ease of removing and attaching barrel.
- A detachable sleeve protects the magazine tube and secures forend.
- Vang Comp® 6-Shotshell Carrier Card with Velcro mounting plate and hook-and-loop card attachment system.
- Durable Cerakote coatings (Flat Dark Earth and OD Green) on barreled actions of select models for added wear and corrosion protection.
