Bobro Engineering has recently shown off their new Glock RMR Dovetail Mount.

Bobro Engineering states “We’re wrapping up one of our most productive years in the new product department with the Glock RMR Dovetail Mount. This is something we’ve had in mind for a while, but incorrectly assumed that there were other “no gunsmithing” mounts out there that were sufficient. Once we dug around, we realized there were common shortfalls among these plates – long term durability and impact resistance being the primary concerns. Also, slides getting lost in the mail, lengthy turnaround times, and slides being returned with shoddy workmanship were something we’d heard from plenty of customers.

The Bobro Engineering Glock plate is an extremely robust way to install an RMR footprint optic to your stock, uncut Glock slide with 1″ nominal width (9mm, .40cal) without having to send it off to get cut. There is zero gunsmithing required and no permanent alterations are made to your gun.

Utilizing the rear sight dovetail, the mount has both front and rear backup sights incorporated into the plate and places the optic in a great position. The mount uses a 4-way mechanical lockup and will withstand extreme usage without coming loose or shifting from impact. The plate is shouldered, following the slide radius, so it cannot be knocked left or right when installed. The lug also prevents movement left/right/front/back.

To install, merely push out the existing rear sight, slide our insert into the slide dovetail cut, and then install the plate on top. Using the provided fasteners, secure the plate onto the dovetail insert and torque 14-18 inch pounds. We highly recommend that you use a low strength thread locker as well.

It is constructed using 7075-T6 aluminum alloy which allows us to keep the product extremely lightweight with no sacrifice in strength or duability.”
