Dark Mountain Arms has debuted their new STOWAWAY firearms series chambered in 5.7x28mm.

Dark Mountain Arms states ” Aaron Voigt established himself as an innovative designer in the firearms space when he launched the LifeCard pistol seven years ago. Although Voigt sold his interest in Trailblazer Firearms earlier this year, he is excited to be leading a dynamic new start-up called Dark Mountain Arms with yet another unique firearm design: the STOWAWAY rifle and pistol.

The STOWAWAY rifle is a multi-caliber, bolt-action, take-down firearm that is initially being offered in 5.7×28. Weighing in at just under three pounds, this packable rifle is designed to be the most versatile single-shot rifle available. The standard offering includes a ½”x28 threaded muzzle, although compliant versions will also be offered. Future caliber options include 9mm, 4.6×30, .22 LR, .22 WMR, .17 Mach2, and .17 HMR.

The STOWAWAY pistol is a large format pistol built around that same platform and with similar features but with a 5” barrel and no stock. Plans are underway for an SBR version as well.

Voigt, one of six kids, was raised to love the outdoors and respect the American tradition of firearms and hunting in the mountains near Asheville, North Carolina. A former Marine and a veteran of the US Army, Voigt is a lifelong gun enthusiast.

“I’m still relatively new to the firearms industry, although, after seven years at Trailblazer I’ve learned my way around and met some great people. Last time it took me seven years from concept to launch. This time it’s less than a year,” commented Voigt.”
