Unobtainium Gear states “The SLEDS-K Placard is the AK optimized variant of the original SLEDS Placard. We developed SLEDS-K to meet the following requirements:
- To offer the same re-indexing and retrieval performance of the original SLEDS.
- Full compatibility with AK and similar lugged magazines.
- Adjustable magazine retention
- Greater lower pouch coverage to prevent ingress of dust and mud.
- Admin pocket functionality of the original SLEDS.
- To carry .308, 5.56, 7.62×39, 9mm, and other similar magazines without the expense, bulk, and weight of Velcro inserts.
- To outperform all similarly capable market options in overall system weight. The SLEDS-K pouch design is lower profile and approximately 30% lighter than comparable injection-molded and Kydex magazine pouch designs.”
