Parker Mountain Machine has debuted their latest offering with the new PMM Compact Tardigrade.

Parker Mountain Machine states “When picking a name for this pistol, the team at PMM wanted something that portrayed the use case of our P320 creation.

We made the decisions for this pistol based on hard use and enduring performance.

The water bear or Tardigrade is one of the most resilient creatures our planet and beyond has seen.

The Compact Tardigrade is the next evolution of our X-Comp pistol from previous years.

Starting from a blank slide we wanted to offer simple function mixed with our own look offering a design at the front end that is similar to our best-selling comps, profiling the slide in a way that utilizes a winged comp helps blend the two together for a more seamless look as well as the function of a captured design.

The comp has seen many iterations in testing over the years and with some port geometry changes we are able to squeeze a small amount of performance out over our standard single port comps by changing port angles and efficiency.

The biggest difference between the Compact Tardigrade and the Tardigrade will be parts life and versatility.

The compact will offer a longer recoil spring life as well as small parts due to the longer stroke and less violent cycle.

What is lost in performance of a single port comp is gained in a wider range of ammo that will cycle the slide as well as the gun running in more adverse conditions and less desirable inputs like around a shield or non-conventional positions.

With the new slide and comp had to come a new grip texture to fit the Tardigrade name.

The grip texture on the compact Tardigrade is not as sharp as the subcompact dual port.

We made this decision based on the compact being a more well-rounded package.

The frame still offers a high level of friction without being too abrasive to have on you at all times.”
