Parashooter Gear has recently announced their new lightweight plate carrier called the Dagger has beem moved into the pre-order phase.

Parashooter Gear states on the Daggar “The DAGGER is our take on a lightweight plate carrier. We designed it to be minimalist but not necessarily “low vis”.

We took the features we liked from other carriers and deleted everything we didn’t find useful.

Our goal was to make something that was simple, rugged, lightweight but also comfortable without compromise.”

KEY DETAILS:

Front plate bag –
Three vertical webbing slots allow for placard height adjustment. This carrier was tailor made to fit our VOLK and VOLK G perfectly as well as all other common placards on the market. We deleted the chest Velcro section commonly seen on other carriers because we found it had limited use and we liked the look. Two small PTT mounting points are located just above the Velcro field on the front plate bag. There is a slight offset between the Velcro on the front and rear plate bag. This offset helps the rear plate to ride slightly higher than the front for proper coverage and weight distribution.

Rear plate bag-
MOLLE webbing offers the user plenty of space for cable routing as well as attaching assault and hydration packs. The covered rear Velcro section expands on that MOLLE real estate and protects your cummerbund from getting snagged and inadvertently released.

Shoulder pads-
The shoulder pads were designed to be minimalist and unobstructive but not at the cost of comfort. They envelope the user’s entire shoulder and make the DAGGER very comfortable to wear for long stretches unlike some other minimalist designs.

Cummerbund-
The CROSSGUARD is our light armored cummerbund. The idea was to make maximum use of space typically left empty at the 3 and 9o’clock. This cummerbund allows the user to plus up on protection without the drawbacks typically associated with side armor plates. Two 6×6 IIIA inserts gives you approximately 30% more coverage with no weight or comfort penalty. Weighing only about 11 ounces, IIIA soft armor is flexible, comfortable and virtually weightless. The two cells, one on each end, are easily reversable so either the open topped or flapped cells are facing forward depending on user preference. We found the flapped cell to be helpful for storing things like Torniquets, vacuum sealed med kits or protecting radio controls.
