Strike Industries has announced their latest in AR-15 pattern handguards with the new Gridlok Lite rail that is availble in 8.5″,11″, 15″, and 17″ lengths.
Strike Industries states “The Strike Industries GRIDLOK® LITE Rail for AR-15 takes innovation from GRIDLOK® but this is a 1-piece design to minimize weight and offer a cost-effective option. Using the same Patent Pending Quick Rail Detach system, there is no other handguard that can be removed at home or in the field on the market today.
With the Quick Rail detach system, a simple push and pull of the of the quick detach (QD) latch, you have the handguard off in seconds to make any adjustments to an adjustable gas block or installation/removal of a suppressor. The QD latch has also been redesigned with a new locking button for earlier latch locking.
Integrated into the front of the GRIDLOK® LITE is the built-in flip up backup iron sight (BUIS). Just about any M-LOK accessories can be attached and mounted along the length of the rail at 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9 and 11 o’clock positions giving you as many options as any handguard on the market.
In the rear of the handguard you will find a integrated 360° free swivel QD socket for a 2-point setup. Rear tabs with set screws at the top the SI GRIDLOK® LITE help center the top rail to the upper receiver to ensure proper alignment.
The cut in front was designed to help fit suppressors up to 1.57″ (39.9mm) in diameter and of course all SI muzzle devises including the SI OPPRESSOR for those looking for that tucked look.
The handguard is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and the barrel nut is machined from 7000 series aluminum which excels in applications that require lightweight and high strength.
