DTF Industries a few months back introduced a new device for handguns. The S.A.F.E. (side arm failsafe extension)Space Device which either bolts onto the frame of a semi-automatic pistol or uses the picattiny rail or mounting slots on the dust cover of the pistol. The SAFE space device acts as a barrier to block any obstruction from pushing the slide out of battery. This would be extremely handy in a close quarter situation where a struggle or pressing the firearm into someone could dislodge the slide causing the firearm to come out of battery.
DTF Industries SAFE Space Device is machined from 7075-T6 billet aluminum and finished with a Mil-Spec Type III hardcoat anodized finish. The SAFE Space Device weighs in at only 1.2 ounces and features textured sides for increased grip.
Currently the SAFE Space Device is available for full size and compact Glock models in 9mm and 40sw IE 17/22 and 19/23. Two models are currently in production the other model will have the capability to mount weapon lights.
DTF Industries states more firearm models will be supported coming soon for models Smith and Wesson M&P9/40 4”, Sig Sauer P320 X-Carry, Sig Sauer P320 Compact, Sig Sauer P226, Springfield Armory XD 4” Service, Springfield Armory XD Mod.2 4” Service, Springfield Armory 1911 TRP Operator, and Springfield Armory 1911 Loaded.
