
Flir Systems has been awarded a $2.6 million contract order from the United States Army for the delivery of Flir’s Black Hornet® Personal Reconnaissance system (PRS). The PRS devices that will be delivered under the contract are to support squad-level surveillance and recon capabilities in the Army’s first batch for the Soldier Borne Sensor (SBS) program.
In 2016 and 2017 the U.S Army first purchased the PRS units from FLIR to test and evaluate. The U.S. Army has announced they will continue testing to determine a larger-scale roll out for operational use within all infantry units.
